Two Water Channels in Sawah Besar Dredged

Personnel of Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency keep accelerating the mud dredging of water channel in Gunung Sahari Utara and Kartini, Sawah Besar.

Sawah Besar District's Water Resources Implementer Unit Head, Yusuf Sumardani said 12 personnel and one heavy equipment are deployed to dredge water channel on southern Jalan Rajawali Selatan Raya, Gunung Sahari Selatan.

"Personnel dredge the water channel along 213 meters with 100 cm of width. The dredged mud has reached 50 cm," he said.

Collapsed Channel in Gang Palem Being Repaired

Yusuf added that the dredging is also run on connecting water channel Jalan Kartini V, Kartini along 400 meters by 11 personnel.

"The channel width and height are about three meters with mud thickness by 50 cm," he added.

According to him, the dredging in these two urban villages is run to respond resident aspiration delivered to Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency.

"Dredging realization in these two locations has reached 40 percent and is targeted to complete in mid May 2025," he continued.

Yusuf is optimistic the dredging will be able to handle inundation during heavy rain.

"We also appeal residents not to litter into water channel," he stated.
